The VMS08-100-LB-LS voice coil positioning stage uses H2W voice coil motor NCM08-25-100-2LB to generate a continuous/peak force of 10.0 lbs [45.0 N]/30.0 lbs [134 N] with a total stroke length of 0.75 in [19.1 mm]. It comes supplied with a rigid recirculating ball bushing linear bearing. The motor shaft is the moving part of the assembly so that there are no moving (flexing) cables in the system. This also reduces the moving mass of the system. Springs are supplied making this system ideal for oscillatory systems, so that the actuator can move as a balanced spring mass system.
