The VMS05-360-LB-01-M voice coil positioning stage uses dual H2W voice coil motor NCM05-28-180-2LB to generate a combined continuous/peak force of 36.0 lbs [160 N]/108 lbs [479 N] with a total stroke length of 0.50 in [12.7 mm]. It utilizes dual motors in order to double the force capability without having to integrate a single larger size motor. This helps reduce the overall size of the system. The 1-micron resolution encoder allows for precise positioning. It comes supplied with a rigid recirculating ball bushing linear bearing. The motor shaft is the moving part of the assembly so that there are no moving (flexing) cables in the system. This also reduces the moving mass of the system.
