The VMS05-180-LB-12-LS voice coil positioning stage uses H2W voice coil motor NCM05-28-180-2LB to generate a continuous/peak force of 18.0 lbs [79.2 N]/54.0 lbs [238 N] with a total stroke length of 0.50 in [12.7 mm]. The 12.0-micron resolution encoder allows for accurate positioning. It comes supplied with a rigid recirculating ball bushing linear bearing. The motor shaft is the moving part of the assembly so that there are no moving (flexing) cables in the system. This also reduces the moving mass of the system. Springs are supplied making this system ideal for oscillatory systems, so that the actuator can move as a balanced spring mass system.
