The VMS05-180-LB-01 voice coil positioning stage uses H2W voice coil motor NCM05-28-180-2LB to generate a continuous/peak force of 18 lbs [80 N]/54 lbs [240 N] with a total stroke length of 0.50 in [12.7 mm]. The 1.0-micron resolution encoder allows for precise positioning. It comes supplied with a rigid recirculating ball bushing linear bearing. The motor shaft is the moving part of the assembly so that there are no moving (flexing) cables in the system. This also reduces the moving mass of the system.
